    Splash the cash - feasible?

Posted by DynamoKev on 11/11/2024, 8:53:18

Lots of talk recently either a) criticising a lack of spend in the last two windows and/or b) demanding us to spend heavily in Jan. Question being - is this likely to bring in better quality, or as I suspect result in poor value? Upping the transfer budget is likely to put us in direct competition with the bigger Championship clubs, which is likely to be a more tempting prospect - better/bigger grounds, likely better wages and (in the current situation) a better chance of promotion. Not to mention the potential disparity in wages and possible destabilising effect that would have. So if we did splash out, how could we do that most effectively?

Think our lack of loan activity is a real issue.

Used really effectively to get Drameh and Marv in the promotion season.

      Lokonga and Kabore last season.

You only need to look at the quality Doak had on Saturday, why we haven’t utilised a quality loan addition or two is coming back to bite us.

Don’t see us spending big in Jan, even if we do have a new manager in charge.

I think it's because the greedy PL clubs starting asking for loan fees. So the Championship mugs get to develop their player and pay for it. Personally I think that's taking the piss.

We NOW won’t play loan fees. Simple.

            Moral high ground v reality.

You make a lots of statement that are 'FACT'.

How do you know as 'FACT' that we won't pay loan fees. How do you also know as 'FACT' that Taylor has had a bust up with RE?
