That makes no sense at all. How can Rob build a new team around current players?

It says around current players who care

They all obviously care. It dosent make any sense that certain players are not playing for him. I think we would have identified certain players by now who don’t care, no player springs to mind that haven’t played in the way Rob wants them to.

We know. It's crystal clear that he's going nowhere because any other club, dare I say any other normal club, doesn't reward or tolerate failure as we're currently and bizarrely seem to be accepting. Too expensive to pull the pin.

Agreed. Back him seriously in the January window. Get him who he wants, and then hopefully things will improve.

Clark should get at least a dozen new balls.

We’ve already sold players and made £17m and spent only £5m on McGuiness so should be plenty available

£5m on McGuiness is actually completely fuckin mental.
🎵 we all dream of a team of Ian Ropers....🎵

No fan of mcg so far but any CB will suffer following their player into their half leaving space in behind. Especially when they have no pace.

100% this.
You can be a great defender, but if you have no pace, you’ll be exposed playing these kind of tactics. Maguire cost Man Utd £80m, he’d be just as screwed by our setup.
It requires the pace of Burke, Osho, Mengi to be able to carry it out.
If we actually just let them defend from the edge of the box and up to the half way, they’d be so much more comfortable.

Completely agree.
Think people are missing the point with McGuiness. Whilst I’m not completely sold on him, I think most defenders at this level would struggle with our ‘chaos theory’. Lockyer would almost certainly struggle, and he was one of, if not the best defender in the championship in 2022/2023.
Think McGuiness and the rest of the defence will be more consistent in a solid defensive structure.

Would a more solid defence structure enable McGuiness to clear a ball properly? Or make Holmes read the bounce of the ball properly when going for headers? Or help the Japanese Paul Carden play a 4 yard pass without it going out of play?

You’d be surprised what a lack of confidence does to players. Also, they’re probably knackered from having to consistently chase opposition forwards into their own half, and then run back multiple times a game. Tired minds leads to loss of focus and consequently poor decision making/mistakes.
Trust me, I’m far from solely blaming Rob. Most of the players need to take a long hard look in the mirror. However, I think a new manager gets more out of this squad.
It’s a mid table squad, in my opinion.

I hear you mate and totally agree. A change is needed at management level but those cunts wearing our shirt should be embarrassed to pick up their wages at the moment.
Re: Rob

Bang on.
Also think the board/recruitment team need to take accountability for two piss poor transfer windows. Rob was clearly promised financial backing for a good crack at promotion, otherwise he wouldn’t have signed for four years. If we weren’t willing to pay the market rates for transfers/wages, then why didn’t we utilise them loan market, considering we built good relations with other prem clubs, last season.
I get the sense that Gary overestimated our allure as a club, and thought he would be able to ‘wheel and deal’ his way through the list of targets, knowing that we wouldn’t be willing to meet their transfer/wage demands. Ultimately, at this level, you need to stump up the cash to attract the ‘top players’; they aren’t interested in being ‘sold a project’, like young, hungry, unproven players might be.

Mengi? Wasn’t Mengi running back aswell but didn’t get there?
The blokes been completely uninterested this season. A shadow of last seasons player.

And there in lies the problem. No pace and no leader on the pitch(Morris a side) Doing things on the cheap is now telling its own story.
