The Championship side are valued at between £150-175million by Pozzo.

Isn't that how much debt they're in to Pozzo? I would love to know how they've reached that valuation.

They took the number of years that they have gone without winning a major trophy and put a k on the end of it.

That should, of course, have said million although k is probably more accurate.

Pozzo valued it at £175m hence he wants to raise 10% - £17.5m - via the Gofundme (Republic) appeal. They aimed for £2m from the UK and the rest from overseas. They have raised £5.5m so far as it's overpriced.

                Here's the blurb https://republic.com/watfordfc

It's not merely overpriced, it's also entirely worthless. The shares have no voting rights, so if the Pozzos do sell then they only need to sell their shares and the new buyer will have 100% control. Theoretically they would be entitled to dividends I think, but very few clubs pay dividends.

To be fair, it's not entirely stupid from the Pozzos. If they can get £5.5m (less some significant fees) from mostly Yanks who understand neither soccer nor what they are actually buying then that's less money they need to keep it ticking over.

Expect they can only do it once, at least until everyone's forgotten about it (again).

That seems a bit like crowdfunding and definitely doesn't feel desperate whatsoever.

Their recent profit has only been healthy because of very healthy player sales - without that they're haemorrhaging money. It will be very impressive if they can continue those levels of sales, to clubs other than Udinese, over the next few years.

The Sun. Nobody else talking about it. But bit of a drop down in aspirations if anything in it.
