So if your dad dies and leaves you a modest £400k house and £200k in his modest pension. You have to pay tax at 67% on everything above £500k. In this case on £100K.

And the lefties moaned coz Boris had a party.

I may be wrong but if he'd gifted the house to his son and survived for seven years there'd be no IT to pay.

Are you a real fucking person with a fucking actual brain?

Everytime you post on here you come across as a childish retard who hasn't spent a day in school past the age of 6.

Are you actually complaining that people being gifted 600k from a dead parent will have to only pay tax at 67% above 500k?

Go and sniff glue mate. You're a fucking right dunce.

They would have had to be married or in a civil partnership for the unused allowance to be transferrable.

Did he explain how he got to 67 per cent - is it assuming that the Dad is over 75 so Income Tax is paid on the pension?

                My mistake, it was 68%.

Yes dad was over 75, so 40% and then 28% inheritance tax. I mean a lot of the smallest houses in London must be that money.

                  In Bedfordshire, it’s £348k. In Hertfordshire, it’s £532k. In Buckinghamshire, it’s £506K.

                  Your point holds no water.

So 400k is well above average then and therefore not modest?

For Herts, Beds and Bucks, £400k is well below the average. Ask someone to help you understand the figures please.

I am still recovering from the sad story of the two “pensioners” with 60 (Sixty) but to lets in Colchester complaining about the budget spoiling their plans for a Mone style cruise round the world.

Of course, so why did the Daily Telegraph decide to make it the lead story this morning.

Once they have since dropped and removed from their digital edition.

I don’t know how to explain this simply enough to you. It’s a newspaper story of someone that is a complete rarity. This is not the average Joe, nowhere near, not even remotely.

BTW the couple have definitely paid and continue to pay a fortune in tax and will do so in inheritance tax. They worked hard and took the risks and deal with the inevitable stress that goes with it.

Stop hating on hard working tax payers. Start hating the freeloaders who Labour appeal to.

Why do you think that hard work is confined to rich entrepreneurs?
Do you not think low-paid employees in, say, an Amazon warehouse, don’t work hard for their pittance?

you've only got to watch Homes under the hammer for a basic grasp of what people do, fairly ordinary people buy an old house at auction because no one wants it ,spend a few quid doing it up and then sell it on and reinvest the money doing the same
In Cuba's head the ones he's read about have a string of houses in Chelsea and Bath
