Well…. As expected , pure Oxford domination. BUT as it happens it was a good game played in awful conditions and how football should be played a good advert for football, not perfect but end to end and full of incident ‘loved it’

you were better - gave us a 2 goal head start and should have won - I think you can finish in the top half except I assume you have not much strength in depth

They're fucking shite - a decent team would've won that without breaking sweat against that shambles.
And to play for a draw for 20 minutes against 10 ..... yeah, real top half stuff.

Oxford were too nice and gave two soft goals away. The ref was a Homer, not giving Oxford two blatant pens.

If they're shit was the feck are we? It was daylight robbery to be leading at half time

I do agree they should have been better when we went down to 10 but to be fair they had put in a ton of effort to dominate to that point and had made a lot of subs themselves..I am not really here to speak up for them but at the end of the day for a L1 team last season they played good attacking pacey football - compare that to our ex PL team!

It would have been a struggle not to look good against that last night.
Worst thing was they were inept and clumsy at the back too, but we decided not to bother trying to take advantage after the second goal.

Very decent side Oxford. With a tactically astute manager.

We make anyone look good at the moment. I wouldn't judge Oxford on last night
We are ridiculously easy to attack. We're ok going forward at times but utterly powder puff without the ball, which was one of our major strengths before Edwards ripped everything up and decided to turn us into Liverpool or City... but without the players for that to work
The managerial casualty list is full of people who were obsessed with a certain style of play without realising they didn't have the players to do it and/or forgetting to recruit players who could do it

Defending on 85 mins, down to 10 men and holding on for a draw - both Burke and McGuinness recklessly following their man/the ball on the right wing well into the Oxford half. No chance of winning the ball, Oxford broke with Menghi on his own at the back. Woodrow and a couple of others mananged to get back and stop the attack. Just bizarre and summed up our defensive frailties.
That attitude is a forwards delight - pulling your marker out of position to create room for others to exploit. Moses and Doughty don't do their defensive duties properly - a token effort to get back in the main. Our opponents always have options as a result. Krauss pressed well, the others not so well. There's a lack of confidence there. Who knows what the cause is - over complicated coaching, knock on from relegation, wishing they had been bought by a EPL club, no captain, poor recruitment in the Summer (not all our fault). The team had relegation written all over it last night.

It's madness ain't it? The man-man stuff is fucking weird and has to stop. The fact that you and others identified that after the 4th game, if not before, and yet he still persists with it, despite plainly not working, is a real head-scratcher
What the fuck is he seeing that us mere mortals aren't?

Probably all of that and, added to that list, maybe the players are losing faith and trust in Edwards and his coaches. Many of them appear very low on confidence

Looks like it to me. Judging by his comments, body -language and strange decision making it would seem he is far from well. Mental health issues are sadly, a very prevalent illness in today's society and football managers - and players are certainly not free,in fact from it, probably more susceptible to such problems than the average human being. I think therefore, that for his sake and that of Luton Town F.C. he should be given a substantial period of sick leave. And no--this is not a flippant remark, I know only too well what mental health issues can lead to if not treated. No doubt there will be some "smart alec " comments , but wait a moment before you post. One day ,it might be you.

I know why he won't change - because RE said Guardiola and Klopp told him "don't change." He's got their endorsement so reality on the pitch will take some time to overide that - will it ever end.
RE's statement before a ball was kicked in August was - we want auto promotion, we want to attack, score goals and entertain. That was naieve and promoted all expectations both players and fans. The Championship is a tough division, long, relentless and anyone can beat anyone. Fine margins is a cliche' but so true and we are far from being on the right side of those margins.
