Penalty taker was Kevin Nichols not Aaron Skelton!

What a cracking day that was. I took a Liverpool supporting mate who I've unfortunately lost contact with. He found the whole penalty saga most hilarious!

Howard was dropped for the subsequent midweek home game before the Saturday and the 5-1 win over Torquay - the JLV debut game.

Nicholls, as captain, was trying to take the ball from Howard to give it to Skelton to take them.

Howard played in the Torquay game. In fact, he scored our first goal.

Chris Coyne made his debut in the Tuesday night game after York, against Lincoln and scored Lincoln's equaliser near the end of the game. Torquay's goal was also an own goal (Nicholls).

Remember that York game well but strangely I’d never associated it with being just 4 days after 9-11. The Orient match was just 10 days later - the night of the JLV screamer, only one turnstile being open and Met Plod wildly underestimating how many Luton fans would make the journey...

Howard was nearly triply embarrassed because after missing the 2nd penalty, York went straight up the other end and scored - only for the linesman's flag to go up and rule it out.

Matthew Taylor was injured for the game and commmentating on it for 3CR.

Several Luton fans came out of the game thinking that it had finished 2-2. With all of the arguing going on over the missed penalty, they didn't spot that it had been disallowed.
