What has the Trust ever done for us (2)?

Luton Town Supporters’ Trust is at the forefront of the battle to protect the future of our national game…as seen at the recent House of Commons parliamentary reception for Fair Game’s ‘Fairer Future for Football’.
LTST board member Maryan Broadbent delivered a key speech about how vital football clubs are for the communities they represent, as Fair Game continue to lobby for an improved Football Governance Bill.
Maryan, who also sits on the Fair Game board, was one of four Trust board members attending this important and influential event, along with MPs, leading decision makers and the great and good of football.
The Trust’s commitment to a sustainable and fairer future for football runs deep, not only with Fair Game – for whom Maryan is helping to drive some major initiatives - but also with the Union of European Clubs and the Football Supporters Association, with another board member, Paul Stephens, taking an increasingly active role. All this comes on top of LTST being key contributors to the Tracey Crouch Fan Led Review which brought the fragile state of English football to the attention of Government.
We’re here not simply to protect and support our own club – but also to play an important part in ensuring that there’s a healthier future for football across our nation and beyond.
Er...Football Governance Bill? Independent Football Regulator? Was due to go before parliament with cross party support but the snap election intervened. The Tory version was a bit lame so Fair Game etc have been lobbying for it to have more 'teeth'. Labour, and especially Lisa Nandy who heads up DCMS, have grasped the importance of clubs to their communities, which is what the Trust rep was talking at the HoC about, as per press release. I don't think the PL will happily play ball, but football governance is any easy - and inexpensive- win for Government.
The Trust have been right of the forefront of this
