Absolutely, it's called an appeasement/diversion signing. It's a punt, designed to mask other issues, including the flag, and to get the peasants, (sorry supporters) talking about something else !

If that's how you read it, that's fine, we all have our own interpretation of what people post on here, but this signing is a punt, just like Lua Lua, and Barkley. I hope it works, I really do. Personally, I am more concerned that we currently seem unable to sign or loan young English players who end up with other clubs in the same division. A degree of clarity from the club would be nice from time to time. I look forward to hearing exactly who ordered the flag to be covered up again !

So, first thing this morning, the board thought Oh shit, what shall we do to deflect from the flag issue - I know, let's go and sign Victor Moses.
If you had said that they announced it earlier than planned, your suggestion might have had some credibility but to suggest that we have signed him to deflect from something which you are suggesting that the club is to blame for....

That's not what I said. I am not suggesting that this signing has anything to do with the flag incident, but announcing it on the day after, helps to deflect some of the negativity surrounding the club, regarding the flag incident, but mainly the failure to sign the players they had targeted recently. Attempting to bury bad news is a very common practice, in both business and especially modern day politics.
