Flag

Back in the day, I paid for that flag, or enough to get it made. I sent Brigg Hatter the money needed- £250, I think. He turned out a bit odd. Not that it matters much, as time moves on. Those of us who are old enough to remember don’t need a flag. We know what happened, and we won’t forget. Flags are a relatively recent thing, they mean little.

He didn’t own it, but he organised it and had possession of it. That’s not my point. I’ve just gone off flags. How much did he get by the way… and who would think they had the right to sell it FFS?

I can't remember off the top of my head how much we paid for it. I think it might have been more than the £250 but don't hold me to that. He wanted to keep it for some unknown, reason. We brought it so it could be seen at all times, good or bad and as many have said that it's a permanent reminder of our fight to survive. If all other flags and banners were taken down its that one that must always stay up.

I’m not surprised! DD I do get the outrage, and I agree with the ‘forget’ part of ‘never forgive, never forget’ , but if we all go through life without forgiveness then we never move on. It’s what kills millions of people. A mistake was made tonight, but if we all turn against 2020 then we turn against ourselves, and it won’t end well.

I get your sentiment but it wasn't the supporters who covered the flag. It was unfurled only to be covered up again with two stewards guarding it. It was intentional then. It is an unforgivable act. As for forgiveness certain things can be this isn't one of them. Shall we remove it altogether and "move on" as if it never happened. A few million in the bank seems to have changed opinions.

We may not need it but others who don't know the story do. Never forgive never forget, fvck them even more so now.

I'm sorry but it matters quite a bit, it is a permanent reminder. Similar to the form of a statue.

Well, we all have different views. Statues, flags and other symbols mean less to me than you it seems. Each to his or her own. In the end they all seem to come back and haunt you. I do like Phil Lynott’s statue in Dublin though.
