      No, he is under contract elsewhere. Whether they can register him in their squad or not is irrelevant.

        I can say with some degree of confidence that a a contract made on terms that cannot be fulfilled is null and void. The contract will include terms associated with playing which clearly the club can't fulfil. If Townsend wants to walk away he can. If Luton want him back and v.v they can have him.

          That may be true. But I can say with some degree of confidence that if that contract is null and void it nonetheless does not mean he can unilaterally reinstate a previous - terminated by mutual consent - contract.

          At best he is out of contract and therefore we are able to sign him up on a new contract, should we think it makes sense.

          But let’s face it, why would we?

          It's a bit odd that LTFC never announced his departure, unless I missed something.

          Can only guess that there are legal issues behind the scenes, maybe with the Turkish club trying to pull out of the deal after failing to register him or something.
