Things Jesus never said

You should never talk about religion in public. It's uncomfortable and rude.
It doesn't really matter what you do, as long as deep down you're a good person
Nothing wrong with talkin about your beliefs in public. As long as you don`t mind people disagreeing.
Religion brings comfort to some ..if they want to believe in fairy tales ad sky santa clauses thats up to them. If it doesnt do any harm then they are entitled to especially if it makes them happy . The issue only arises if they are using religion as justification for their actions or beliefs rather than as sort of private comfort blanket.
As you can see I was responding to the OP who said it was rude to talk about religion. I am as happy for for people who get comfort from their faith,as you are.
Really? I am suprised that you would say. Obviously it depends on the actions, violence in the name of religion is never acceptable, but if your action is to not compromise your beliefs in the face of worldy pressure even if that is seen by some as being intolerent then that to me is completely acceptable.
OK that was more at a dig at those who take the bible literally.or parst of it (if you havent come across flat earthers seek them out..its amusing...they literally do take some aspects as gospel (scuse the pun).
Religion is seriously misused by a fair few... fund raising (thinking more the american evangelist mob not the fix our roof please mob) . And anyone who invokes gods will as a justification (just watching a program about a woman who says god told them to go the the border and attack mexican immigrants basically..american of course). Wrong use of religion. But there are some good messages in religion - basically be nice and dont be a c*nt which are valid..if you are religious or not. And if you get that last bit word for word in your sunday sermon i`ll be impressed!
Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear and possibly misunderstood your message. Essentially I'm saying that people should absolutely be able to share their beliefs and thoughts with others; family and wider society. It's freedom of speech but with freedom comes responsibility. Too many people, religious or otherwise, are happy to have freedom of speech, but less happy to take any responsibility which, if course, is very wrong.
You're probably right about that although they're often very quick to suggest "It's all fairy tales" or similar whenever a conversation about faith occurs.
