Peterborough rejecting a bid for Ogbene replacement

Luton Today are reporting that Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony told a podcast they rejected a bid for their winger Kwame Poku as a replacement for Ogbene.
MacAnthony reckons we bid £3m, Peterborough wanted £6m. At least we know one of the players we tried to sign at the end of the window, I guess.
I’m amused by MacAnthony saying “I’m sure Luton won’t mind me saying” that we bid for Poku. I bet Sweet is delighted.

It struck me from what he was saying that he’d probably have been available earlier in the window, but 3 days before they aren’t going to be able to replace him so would need to be mind blowing money of £6m - £7m.

Well we didn't need to replace Ogbene until late in the window so it wasn't really an option.

Poku ain't worth six million, a league one player in a team that didn't make the playoffs. Sounds like Peterborough were taking advantage of our situation which they are quite good at. I suspect Peterborough now have an unsettled player after that announcement.

May have had more chance had we tried to sign Poku before selling Ogbene to add more £ millions to the millions many thought we already had to splash out
