    Power Court - Parking

Posted by Archi on 5/9/2024, 14:15:44

Has anyone seen plans for 'Blue Badge' parking at or very near to the new stadium?

The outline plans showed 1200 parking spaces at ground level with the other retail and residential development above. (Grey space earmarked for parking spaces in the pic below) I suspect the blue badge parking will be within this.

Not sure how this will change in the forthcoming detailed plans but I think it will remain similar.

Interestingly, outline consent expires on 24th September 2024.

Looks like we made an amendment in 2022 so have until 2027 for outline permission now

The original plans showed a multi story car park

From the LTST GS/Power Court Q&A in the last programme of last season:

'Gary reassured us that all aspects of accessibility and transport are being considered and planned for.'

Which presumably would include Blue Badge parking

Is GS supposed to be releasing a more detailed plan this week? Or have I read/heard that wrong mate?

Don't think so, only just caught up with Burnley programme notes (was out of action then) which seems to suggest that it should be next week.

Not sure it's a great idea to put a date on things unless absolutely certain as there are so many negative numpties who are looking for any excuse to have a go at him.

            Stupid, short-memoried idiots.

I think on the 12th August(ish) he said "within the next month".

Some are taking that as by 12th September but he could equally have meant by the end of this month.

I would take it to mean by end of next week

                  Same.

I will be very surprised if we have an update next week as I think he probably meant end of September.

He will cop some flak across social media if there isn't an announcement next week though, I would imagine

Fair enough but either interpretation seems valid to me.

I'm not sure about what happens when outline planning expires though so maybe that's driving it.
