    For historical contexts?

That was the worse home result on opening day since………

    Does anyone know?

Including the United League and Southern Leagues, it's the 10th time we've lost an opening fixture at home.

As others have said, the biggest previous defeats were 3-1. Against Norwich in 1995 and Port Vale in 2008.

All other defeats by a single goal.

Ever, as far as I can see.

We lost 1-3 at home to Norwich in 94/95.

Last time we conceded 4 at home was to Oldham in a 4-4 draw in 1953/54.

(Impressively, we did manage to lose 9-1 away to Swindon on the opening day of the 1920/21 season.
No doubt Outlaws was baying for blood for the committee of directors who chose the team that day!)

We also lost 4-0 at Notts Forest on the first day of the 73/74 season.

Only one of the two teams involved got promoted that season

We were 6-0 up at half time in the next match ...... at home to Carlisle, who were also promoted

The worrying thing is that the same thing will happen again Saturday unless Gary gets his head out of his arse and Rob accepts the 3 won’t work with the current players available.
We could be 9 points behind the front runners by the time the window shuts if they don’t wind in their egos.
If we don’t call them out who will?

So you’re happy with how things are going so far this season? And please don’t say you have trust in the process, look where that got us in January.
