Yes anyone can lose one game so hardly the end of the world, but what was really alarming was the performance. At the end of the day Edwards and Sweet have said we will be challenging for promotion, yet we play a rival at HOME and in all honesty get smashed.
The kids should never have been put in the position where they had to play as we should have had players in by now but what concerned me was how poor our so called mega players were. Ogbene, morris, adebayo, chong, mengi and doughty all did very little to look like so called Premier league players

I felt sorry for the kids, but you can only play as well as the opposition allow you. Burnley played outstandingly well and our shambolic play allowed them to dominate us.

Doughty needs a kick up the arse. 2 nil down and slowly, casually, walking over to take a corner as though he is doing you a favour by turning up.

At last, someone thinks the same as me, the lack of urgency to take corners is unbelievable at times.
One thing that stood out was how quick Burnley attacked us at pace and and how slow & pedestrian we were in our build up.

I'm not an apologist for the club but what should they do? They have loads of defenders injured.
All those players you listed are not PL players. They are Championship players.

Brought some loan players in to cover? Plenty of PL defenders not featuring in their first teams

Who won't be released for loan until the parent clubs have done their own transfer business.

The issue is we knew when the season finished Osho was leaving, they would have knew then Burke, Bell and Anderson would not be fit for the start of the season.
So their was options open to the club...get a experienced cb in, even if someone free like that Peters from West Brim. Or agree a loan deal for a month or so for a defender to give them time to recover.
Or do what we did, which was even more stupid and when we were short for defenders and centre midfielders release Berry and Potts.
Potts especially would have been better last night. We could have gave him a short term deal

I definitely see your point.
I said to my old man yesterday that Potts would be bloody handy right now. But he probably wanted regular first team football so there is always the player's side too.

I agree but we should have had this all sorted long ago not when the seasons underway. Sheff Utd, Burnley, West Brom, Leeds have all made good signings and are just looking go tweak things now.
We are miles away at the moment and even if in the next week we get 2 in they will need time to gel etc
I am just struggling to see why the delay and to start a championship game against probably the best team in it with 3 centre backs under 21 was clearly stupid and showed no signs of planning or organisation
Just hope we can now get some players in and before we are to far adrift from the top end

We were never going to make a shed load of new signings.

We didnt need to but not to replace key first team positions is madness. It was obvious in January and even more so at the end of the season.
We lost a key centre back, both central midfielders, a right back and only really brought in 1 first team replacement in Baptiste. Walters shouldn't be relied on yet

Walters looked decent last night I felt.
Bell is back imminently.
Not all doom and gloom as much as I take your points regarding transfer naivety.

Not saying all doom and gloom and what people forget on this board sometimes (not you!) Is we all.support the club and want the best for it.
Agree, naive over the last 2 windows though!
Hopefully by Friday a decent cb and midfielder will he in and things look more rosy!

Yes absolutely we do.
Unfortunately I don't think any signings are forthcoming.
I do wish we had better communication regarding current injuries though.

I’m not sure why people are surprised, although a nice bloke and good with the press Edward’s is tactically naive and whilst we put up a few good shows last season this was painfully obvious
