Just more spin. I know there's alot of really thick people that watch us but the club clearly think we're all that stupid. It's spin to divert away from the pressing concerns. And most of is can see that. In turn, that causes distrust from supporters. It really isn't rocket science.

          +1

The club could do so much better.

The obvious concern is, why don’t they?

        In bad taste??

I don't think the club needed to do this today.

What message does this send out?

Places more pressure and expectation on a man recovering from a critical medical emergency.

        Why bring Locks into this.

Read the room GS, pay some money and take the pressure off Tom and let him recover carefully and slowly.

I can read and wish him all the best but its poor form from the club to publish this today when we had three kids in defence last night and clearly a large number of fans are unhappy at the selections made and the dreadful performance.

You’re the same type who lambast them for not communicating with the fans. They can’t fucking win can they?

So locks is training, word gets out (which of course it will considering the world wide interest in him) and the club hasn’t mentioned this? You’d all have a stroke over it.

Can't win? They could. Quick enough to throw out what they see as positive news, more seats at PC, Locks training again, some shiny new piss trays in the Oak Road.

Why do they refuse to address the main concerns of supporters of the last few months, why isn't money being spent on the squad, when it's obvious to a blind man it's needed?. Or if they wanted to answer an easier one, Where's the stock of the new shirts at the shop?

                          Re: In bad taste??

Posted by crumpsall on 13/8/2024, 17:05:49, in reply to "Re: In bad taste??"

Why have you chosen to ignore repeated messages about wanting to improve the squad, and funds being ready and available, including RE talking yesterday and the hour long open Q and A with him last week?

Because the answers didn't suit you? We all want to see quality players coming in, including RE and the club board. And have said so. Last night underlined why.

Your point about the shop and shirts makes more sense, for those who actually care about it. Or, in some cases, obsess about it.

You're clueless. I guarantee I've questioned the board more than most and with more difficult questions. I just do it direct and/or through LTST/LLSC where it actually gets some cut through rather than posting moans on here which is just an echo chamber for negative nellies and faceless moaners.

Hard to bring in quality players when all we're offering is the equivalent of a bag of crisps and whatever loose change Gaz has down the back of the sofa.

We've been in the Prem and mixed it with the big boys, so we get charged big boy prices.

Like I said below, it seems like we're trying to buy champagne players but only want to pay coca cola money.

I get not wanting to be ripped off but last night's display has ensured we will be

And talk is cheap. Less talk, more action required.

What makes you say they were hand picked? Obviously didn't ask all questions but are you suggesting selection was loaded? I thought they were quite diverse, some quite challenging and representative of concerns expressed, for instance, on here. I'd like to have heard more of the incisive stuff at the expense of the blando pointless 'what do you do to relax' guff, but I guess that was representative of stuff asked too.

We all want action mate, including, transparently, RE and the board.

But still you tow the party line and refuse to endorse questions asked of GS and the overall appalling comms of late.

We all know the reason - that this would affect your relationship with 2020 and GS - and therefore you won’t put your neck on the line, despite there being well reasoned and articulated voices of concern especially after last night, but also well before that.

It smacks of Starmer’s modus operandi after the recent unrest.

coz the season has started and fans aren't going to take giving up the first four results because "that's when the best deals are, possibly"....

even you are agreeing that we need strengthening but are you really happy to wait until post QPR before our season can actually start?

And there is no guarantee that better players will want to join a team struggling after three games, who wants to be in a relegation battle?

You say funds are available, but there is no evidence of how much these funds are and whether we are going to need to break our wage structure now its been left so late.

Don't kid us, you know this isn't the usual Luton way. Its breeding clear anger now and this has been building for months.

Of course they can win. They choose when to put things out. Anyone with half a brain who has worked in comms can see that this is the classic dead cat distraction post.

I’d have put this out Thursday or Friday. Gives a positive spin going into the weekend. Sharing it today is a clear distraction attempt from last night., and frankly pre season.

Off topic, but same with the kit. Could have chosen to say something way earlier.

Maybe, just maybe, it was posted today because it happened TODAY.

If it had "got out", a picture leaked today, and the club had "waited" and hadn't communicated, you'd be the first to moan "they're keeping us in the dark" "they're not communicating" "why hide this" if they eventually published Wed or Thur.

The clubs media will be setting up those interviews for him. Lockyer doesn’t just turn up and say by the way I’ve got a story going out Wednesday.
