    Coach v Manager

I’m beginning to worry about Edwards as a coach rather than a manager.

His talk of take the goals out of it is pure coach speak. Watching it’s like he is testing out a system at St George’s park. Seeing what works and keeping doing the same thing until it clicks.

Fine with kids in non competitive matches. Not what you need in a competitive match.

This is now his time and his system. It looks like it is taken off a training park with no thought of competing.

Isn't scoring goals the aim? Any team can play tippy happy backwards and sideways. So apart from Burnley scoring more than us, we would have won!

When he joined us, almost immediately he implemented his coaching philosophy. Wing backs high up the pitch, centre half's pushing into midfield to create overloads and maintained NJ's high press.

We still were prepared to be direct but also started to play through midfield a lot more. Guess what.....it worked!

Not sure why his tactical acumen is now being questioned so loudly. Why rip up a football philosophy and strategy that worked incredibly well on the back of one poor performance.

The current formation and style of play is a world away from that though.

As RE said himself, we changed before Arsenal and he's got it in his head that it was successful. I'd love us to go back to playing how we did last time we were in the championship

The formation was exactly how we played last time in the Championship. For various reasons, it was just executed poorly against very strong opposition.

I have no doubt that RE will set us up to play exactly the way we played in the Championship. Once we start getting bodies back, you'll start to see the 'old Luton'. Key to this style though is a strong CDM. I am hoping that one of our key targets is a decent CDM who can play alongside Nkamba or makes an able replacement.

Fail to strengthen here and it could be a long season.

            "one"

Its one win in 18 senior games.

And an awful pre-season and the dev's getting stuffed too trying to play the same way.

I am talking about his achievements in the Championship. Quite frankly, performance/results in the second half of the Prem with multiple injuries and pre-season friendlies are not a good guide to the tactical acumen of a manager.

What struck me most was when he was asked if he’d rather win every game 4-2 or 2-0, he replied 4-2. This from a former center half.

I'm with him. 4-2 all day long.

I would prefer a 1-0 win rather than suffering a 1-4 thumping at home

                    I prefer 6-2
