Andros Townsend

Some big Turkish journo accounts suggesting Andros has joined Antalya. Expected there today for medical and signing...
Love or hate him, that's another one out the door with little signs of anyone new coming in.

He also did pretty well when he came on last night…shame it was to late imo.

IF true, and IF the rumours about Woodrow to Derby, are true then looks like an attempt to get rid of high earning bench warmers is ongoing. Probably no bad thing?
Ye and we're possibly signing an injury prone player in Liam Walsh, brilliant.

I didn't understand why he didn't get more minutes in the Prem, especially towards the end of the season when we needed to get a hold on the ball and couldn't. I think Barkley felt he had to hold onto the ball longer than he should as he didn't have a decent outlet from those around him to hold onto it when he passed and Townsend would have helped a lot.

Our best run of performances last season came when he was regularly starting aswell.

If true I don't really get letting him move on.
Still seems more effective than a lot of our other options. And has a lot of experience.
And his departure just opens up another void which needs to be replaced by someone - which is something we're clearly struggling with anyway.
I know, something is seriously wrong, there must be more to be spent in the stadium than we thought .If we get in the top 10 this season it will be an achievement, with all these injuries constantly and lack of investment in the side .I get we can't go crazy with the money, but thought maybe 10 mill to be spent out of the parachute payment.
Yep. Seems crazy to let him go, if this is true of course.
He gives everything when he's on, a great option. Weird move. But then it's all becoming a little weird of late, to be honest.

This is getting ridiculous now, another quality player and leader out the door, and replacing him with a sick note Liam Walsh probably , no disrespect to Liam Walsh, really poor from our board .I'm fuming if Andros leaves, his experience and quality in this league could be so key to any success.

To be fair Andros was a sick note when he arrived.
Be an odd one to be on the bench a night before a medical.
Useful squad player would want to keep him.

If you look at his injury record, 1 cruciate injust aside he was rarely injured, and I believe has been available for every game since he joined.

Hate him? Who on earth would hate him? Never done much wrong for us.
Many comments I hear at games about him being slow, always cutting back, not good enough etc.
Think he's been alright, would rather keep than lose him. Good head, nice lad, good with the young lads.
Weird to see him go tbh.

He was our best player yesterday and was only on 5 minutes

Agreed I thought that he was a class above everyone else when he came on Come on Rob , give him more minutes, he gives experience and rarely gives the ball away
What the hell is going on. Andros Townsend is a quality player and has played at the highest level and we are selling him is there a replacement?. The way that things are happening is that there is a very good possibility that we could go down. Something has to give this just can’t carry on.
