Why does our club attract SO many fans who are blinkered to what’s going on and reality. It’s ok having morales as a club….but that cost us last season as we were relegated. We need to spend big, stop worrying about what if’s and focus on the season and league we’re in. Not the one we ‘may’ be playing in in 3 years time! It’s like dying a pauper in a bed-sit with £100k under the piss stained mattress.
We spent a lot of money, realised we couldn't afford it and then the rot started. I agree about the crooks thing but if you aren't convinced there there are plenty of other clubs' fans like Sunderland you can ask about their experiences of trying to spend to attain and retain higher league status.
there is balance - we cannot and should not be trying to buy our way to success - even though our financial troubles in the past were more to do with mismanagement than big transfer fees we are a club scarred with that. On the other hand the constant focus on buying 16 year olds and avoiding anyone over 27 is daft as is repeating the stuff about "the group" neglecting the fact that the "group" ain't won a game since Adam was a boy
