    ‘Millwall didn’t play Alan Campbell’

Posted by East Beds Hatter on 13/8/2024, 8:26:32

Campbell was here throughout pre-season last year, clearly thought he was going to play a part in our PL season after helping us win promotion, then Edwards suddenly sent him out to Millwall. No wonder he lost his way once there.

Now it’s as though he doesn’t even exist, which doesn’t sit easy with me.

I do wonder about Edwards’s man management skills - look at the Giles saga last season too. (By the way, I’m not in any way stating he was the answer, but it was a strange one)

Edwards doesn't fancy him - seems a bit like Taylor and it appears more and more Townsend - all of that is fine if we have good alternatives which I am struggling with seeing after 1 game (to be fair).

Problem is , Campbell isn't a good alternative either.
        No more backward steps.

Whilst I’d agree with that, there’s no way we’d have conceded four goals with him in midfield.

Campbell worked for us when he played for us in the championship I thought...he always gave 110% every game...Not sure if he is the answer but good squad player...

Some may say there's a difference between working and achieving.
Mo Farrah could run all day for us, but would it improve us.

Mp we've never agreed on Alan Campbells contribution, I'd put more faith in Toms view that he was a great team contributor.
