    Dismayed but not surprised

Apart from the fact my wife thinks he’s a hunk I have little regard for Rob Edward’s ability as a manager and tactician, this was cruelly exposed last season
What concerned me last night was the total lack of movement by the players who looked as though they had never trained together whereas Burnley looked fitter and far more mobile
    Hope I’m wrong

Can't argue with that. Klopp and Guardiola telling RE "don't change the way you play" seems to have turned us into a one trick pony. We only play one way and teams are ready for us hence the tail off in form at the end of last season. Burnley were ready for us and did the same as Celta Vigo for the first and second goals.

No DM, Mids not tracking back, lack of pace at the back, no captain, no leader and naivety at the back. Naivety - JJ getting sucked forward many times exposing space behind as per their second. That's an example, I'm not singling him out as few played well.

But going forward was poor too for the first half and periods in the second half. We are going to see teams defend, leave no space and hit us on the break at home - which is why Joe Taylor is not an option for me. We need more guile. Lots to work on and hopefully that will cause a rethink all round.

Totally agree with all that. Playing this formation without a defensive midfielder is suicide. For me it's the lack of basic organisation, for the last goal Walters went forward, a midfielder had to fill that hole but no one did leaving us totally exposed to the counter-attack.

          "now" or "not"?
