Is he a centre back or wing back? All the youtube videos of him in his Arsenal days seem to have him wearing no 2 and playing wing back.
Was he played out of position tonight? If so, doesn't say much about Holmes.

He's played the right side of a back 3 most of pre season. He did alright, I thought. Looked composed on the ball, and fairly strong for a teenager.
It's the lack of experience in the centre of defence/midfield that was the killer today. Really odd starting 11 from the manager.

He could have played Pelly. Could have played started Andros in a more central role to add some experience. We'll sign a midfielder. And Nakamba will be back soon. The mad thing was starting JJ, Walters and Nelson all together.

2 (possibly 3) young players making their championship debuts against possibly one of strongest opponents whilst players with plenty of championship experience warm the bench seems a little strange

You don't put three inexperienced players like that against a side like Burnley. Rabbits in headlights and could be damaging for their confidence.

Yes and yes. Think he will be excellent as rwb or rb. Go with Holmes and Mengi as a 2 ( if still here). 3 centre halves does not work for us

He’s a CB or a RWB. Played most of football RWB but was apparently seen by Arsenal as a CB in the longer term. I thought he was the best of the teenagers tonight, was quite impressed with him.
