    Joe Taylor v Brown, Woodrow

Posted by Frog Hatter on 10/8/2024, 6:46:31

Personally I would like to see Joe Taylor in the squad above Jacob Brown or Woodrow. Brown is pacey and hard working but not a natural goal scorer - Woodrow is just too slow for our style of play.

Also surely the upside for a financial perspective is better and potentially very high if he scores goals at this level.

Taylor’s obviously better, purely on the basis that he’s hardly played a game for us

No one is offering us money for brown or Woodrow….

How can you even judge Taylor he's hasn't played above league one. Brown and Woodrow have played in the Premier league

How many goals has he scored for us?

Most have only seen 15 minutes of him in the play off final so I’m not sure how people think he’s better than Brown & Woodrow & would be fine in the EPL.

I have seen plenty of Woodrow…
And we had not seen Eli play before he took the step up.
Taylor clearly has an eye for goal and my opinion is that it is worth seeing if he is good enough, as the 3rd choice striker, at this level.

Taylor seems to know where the back of the net is. Perhaps one of those things that isnt just taught, more an instinct.
Whilst he hasnt done it at Championship level, those skills still transfer from lower level. The movement in the box, the calmness in front of goal.
The other side though is that hes playing against better defenders who are more organised.
Pesonally, i think he has to be worth a go, and i´d pick him before Woodrow.

Fair play. It’s a tough one. Woodrow has scored a few at this level but in some games he is not in it at all. I like Brown & he needs a run in the team. Pleat said Taylor isn’t an EPL player but he may do well at Championship level - a big gamble though bearing in mind the squad limitations.

Yeah, but who knows more about football: Pleat or Cuba?

For me Taylor should be given a go too in the league this season. I think he be ok.

Jacob Brown is a good scorer in this league too.great attacking squad we have.
