Absolutely no point

in signing talented youngsters if they are never given the opportunity to develop and play for the Town. These days all decisions seem to be short term. What did Busby and Ferguson do?
Agreed. Such a shame that 23 year old chap we signed from Walsall in 2021 was never given a chance.
Or that 21 year old centre half we signed from Man Utd last season.

1 He isn't young 2 We have progressed more quickly than most fringe players we've taken in over the last few years 3 May I present Nelson, Johnson, Luker, Chiedozie, Walters etc.
The only one I recall that was given a chance, and then only when JS was injured, was JJ. Wasn't too shabby was he. Taylor and McAtee have done more than expected out on loan and then only given minutes in pre-season. What message does that give them and what chance to prove their worth.
Do you think we might have observed him closely while out on loan at Barnsley or observed how he's played in pre-season until now? If you do, just stfu mate. Leave decisions to those who know what they're doing.
Options for McAtee. Given that he isn't better than any of the front players in the starting 11.
1. Sit him on the bench which a player of his age would not be happy about and probably mean he leaves when his deal runs out meaning we get no money back. 2. Loan him out. Which would bring the date when his contract runs out and we get no money back closer. 3. Sell him.
Option 3 is the sensible option. But don't let that stand in the way of a good rant.
Yep, I’m fine with McAtee leaving. Given the attributes Taylor has and the age he is, would be disappointed to see him Lea e on a permanent though, unless his contract is running out the end of this season and he won’t sign another. Loan til Jan fine as long as we get someone else in.
As others have said below, his stock is high, never going to fit in RE’s plans, sell him on. It’s a better option for him and us. Can imagine we’ll have received more than we spent on him.
