    Podcasts vs Fanzines

Posted by Pods of Gods on 9/8/2024, 9:54:15

Did the Fanzine producers (MAAH and DPleated) take the same approach to "fan publishing" as the podcasts? (I don't remember uncredited publishing of Brian Swain reports though

Vague memory that the fanzines were a lot more anti-establishment vs at least one of the podcasts is trying to speak out of both sides of its mouth" by using it's in the know connections, then still going for the edgy approach - e.g. "someone has dropped a bollock here"

It's a muddle of confusion innit

89-90 when we started out the club was being run into the ground by Nelkin and Kohler thus the anti-establishment themes.we tried to be faceless getting as many different opinions from different perspectives of fans.thankfully LLSC got on board early on(2nd or 3rd zine) which completely upped the anti.great days and some great contributions too

Every man and his dog seems to have a podcast these days. Trouble is, 90% of them have fuck all interesting to say.

Speaking of podcast hosts, maybe I'm being overly critical, but I can't help but feel it's a shame that the Trust never got around to uploading the In Memoriam videos to youtube commemorating the fellow Hatters we sadly lost over the past year.

            Cheers.

It's not a big deal but I just real enjoyed the videos over the last 5 years or so.

And it's such a lovely thing to do.

The podcasts that cover LTFC are run by sad attention seeking virgins, full of their own self importance. They genuinely seem to think they are the voice of the people.

The fanzines were funny, anti establishment and weren't all about the author.

The irony of that is WALT was run for years just as the fan page, no one knew the identity of the people that run it until this board had one of its crying fits, demanding to know as we were.

Now you know and you're still crying.

In regards to podcasts, ours or any others - if you don't like them that's fine, but don't cry about them on a board, because that is proper virgin behaviour, you virgin.
