As a club, we're irrefutably in the best place we've been in decades. Yet the moaning, bitching and negativity has been out of control all summer.

Some people just won't be pleased.

I think most right minded fans would've said the most important thing this season would be to keep Eli, Kaminski, Mengi, Doughty and Carlton. And it looks like that's what's happened. We've signed two and I am pretty sure we'll sign another two before the window shuts.

I understand some people worrying about injuries, after our record in defense last year, but it seems like the club expect most of the injured players to be back within a few weeks, so it makes no sense going out and signing a shit load of players, leaving us with an unbalanced and bloated squad come the autumn.

Very good point regarding player retention. Those five players you mentioned plus Chong will be hugely important this season.

All six had very good Prem campaigns and should be bubbling with confidence. I notice our regular negative posters have chosen to ignore how positive this is.

Having said that, I have a feeling there may be some last minute bids for Mengi.

Of course we are in a better place, and I think almost all our fans would acknowledge that - 2020 has done an amazing job.

The difference is that this year we aren't starting the season as plucky, little old Luton anymore. We've tasted the Premier League, have parachute payments, a highly rated young manager and most experts predict us to finish in the top six with our current squad.

The expectations our fans have for the season are understandably higher - which means that issues with ongoing injuries, lengthy contract negotiations, not getting players in, and even the kit are going to be moaned about more than ever before..

I would embrace it, you could argue it actually shows how far we've come as a club!

I so agree. The present board are the best custodians of this club in all the time I have supported Luton (1964 or 65) The thought of Jayten, John Gurney, The failed racing driver (I've forgotten his name), The Tricentrol morons that stopped our football trains away because of the so called bad behaviour on the last train ,which I was on, and our fans caused no trouble at all, it was the home fans lying in wait throwing bricks at the train. The next away game there were Tricentrol coaches taking our fans. That was Bill Tomlins and his mates. 2020 have been true and honest throughout and as open as they can be. Be thankful
