    The retro away shirt

Posted by IYKYK on 2/8/2024, 22:28:09

Magic Sponge retros demise coincided with our club selling the 1991 blue and orange shirts.
So it's obvious the new 'retro' away shirt will be the white version of that time.
Let's hope it's a better version than the snide 88 shirt they tried to push

Is it? That white one was so smart though but my guess is a take on the adidas early 80s white shirt with orange raglan sleeves.

The whole saga has been a bit of a fiasco. It's clear that there are several people who are genuinely itk - at least 2 who post on this board. So, if they knew, why couldn't the club have said something official earlier? Genuinely baffling.

Because in confidence means in confidence not to be repeated. Not a matter of in the know.

There are very few who care, what shirt we play in.
        I personally couldn't give a fcuk.
        Very childish IMO

We're with Umbro. They'll be no take on an Adidas kit.

Er, I know we're with Umbro. It doesn't mean adidas have a complete monopoly on any white shirt with orange raglan sleeves. Obviously the 3 stripes are patented but we had a white away shirt with orange sleeves about 10 years ago with "Barnfield College" as shirt sponsor.

That looked nothing like our 82 shirt apart from the very basic design.

Your claim that an umbro shirt will be a take on an Adidas shirt, I can't agree with.

Either way, let's hope you can treat your kids to new kits by the time you sort your nativity display. I wouldn't hold your breath mate!

All this nonsense about kit. End it all by going back to our traditional black/white. Alternatively if it has to be orange make it all orange, shirt shorts and socks, now that would be classy. And I mean orange, not orangy red.

What happened to the Kappa blood orange shirt?

I heard that the new shirt deal with Kappa fell through & Umbro did not have time to get a new shirt out. Instead we are left with an old shirt that most fans already have. Every other club has a new shirt & the revenue from its sale! Own goal Luton!

Or how about the alternative take on it?
It’s the best selling shirt ever (no doubt as we were PL), times are tough out there financially for fans and if ever there was a season where we can afford to not hit the fans with further outlay this is it.
For those desperate for a new shirt to wear there is always the two new away shirts.
Not so late though that the team isn’t fitted out with new training wear.
Umbro supply is poor for sure but we are hardly top of the food chain there. Imagine how many West Ham order as opposed to us?
I’d ask does it really matter that much??

                It sounds feasible.

But unless you know the reasons behind why the deal fell though you can’t automatically assume it’s “Own goal Luton!”. This typically happens to one or two clubs every season.

How is it an own goal? Two shirts to buy if you want to buy one.

People moan about kits changing every year and then moan when they don't.

When is this deal falling through meant to have happened?

                    It does sound pretty feasible.

After ait must have been something dramatic for The Oracle to be wrong 🤣🤣🤣
