Is it 'bedwetting' to point out the obvious, which that as we approach our last preseason friendly we are probably 3 CBs, 2 Cms and a RB/RWB short of a squad.
Bell out. Burke consistently out Anderson long term out. Lockyer likely not to return.
That leaves Mengi and the arsenal kid.
Berry gone. Barkley gone. Laconia gone. One very injury prone player signed as replacement.
Kabore gone and no replacement.
I trust the board, recruitment and manager. Would still be nice to see 4 or 5 in the next week. And those players would have ideally had a full preseason with us.

Berry, Potts, Ross, and two loanees have gone. We have signed two, so one assumes we have some squad spaces.
Maybe Bell and Anderson are due to imminently return. But, worse case scenario and Mengi gets send off or injured (heaven forbid) you must admit me look pretty short defensively.
We have 5 strikers currently, which is great, but are thin at the back. That isn't a criticism or a panic, just a statement of fact.

You haven't allowed for Holmes, Mengi, Taylor or McAtee although you can add Fred to the list of those leaving.
We currently have 23 in the squad so two spaces available which is nowhere near enough to cover the six that you want to bring in.
