Well it's certainly a legit site.

Maybe its a friendly related to a signing we've made but is as yet undisclosed

Or maybe a delayed arrangement as part of the Lars Elstrup transfer

Before anyone mentions it I know the deal was between and OB Odense.

But, as I said, why would it be that early in the summer or that early in the morning - just looks very strange.

Thatís not particularly early, Man Utd are away in Norway on the 15th for one of theirs.

As I said, we are normally playing teams around the level of Bedford Town at that stage (or away at a training camp).

Perhaps one day the club will deign to tell us peasants when the psf are in advance.

We're finding out about friendliness from random sources, and last year got told about what would've been a decent few days in Germany a few days in advance - ruling out a lot of people who could've gone.

Perhaps it's a bit like contract lengths and if they don't announce the friendlies we gain an advantage over the other clubs when they're surprised we turn up to play them

Agreed. Doesn't look like there's going to be a trip abroad. It had been announced by this time last year and even that was short notice as you say.
Also, this thing with the Trust that has been well advertised on here, what's the point in me putting my hand in my pocket? They clearly have little input or ask many questions.

You're totally out of order with that last sentence.

Did you not read the interviews with GS in the last couple of programmes? Linked in full on here and on the official site. Loads of new info that people had demanded on here, based on questions from the Trust that all members were invited to submit. No response from the very same people who were demanding it on here. They just moved on to being negative about something else. I know that because I posted the links and then highlighted that lack of response.

Then Farhat posted up a couple of paragraphs from their newsletter/message from the Chair last week which explained how they're looking to extend membership to more accurately reflect the fanbase and that's been represented as 'putting out the begging bowl' by the usual types who do fuck all themselves but piss and whine about every positive action on here.

In response to one of whom I posted another big chunk of the email that covered what the Trust have done this year.

And how if you want to ask questions, they are the channel for it. So if you're desperate for pre season friendly information*, or want to slag off the club shop etc why not do it that way? Or even get involved?

It's like the link to the Fair Game petition, the same 'do nothing, slag off everything' moan about 'modern football' but aren't prepared to do or support anything to try and protect the future of the game - whereas the Trust are actively involved.

It's a bollocks, can't be arsed attitude. Same people could ask the club themselves maybe? But oh no, better to whinge on here.

*as far as I know no one has that. So it's fuck all to do with the Trust, it's down to a club decision/policy, whatever. Don't understand it myself either but it really doesn't make me 'macaroni my pants' to quote J Block.

Re: Could be fake news but just seen this online...

On the last paragraph - I'm not that fussed as I historically don't do many pre season games. However, my eldest is getting into football now so I'd like to take him to a few, but to do that I need a bit of notice about when and where they are.

So I'm not macaroni-ing my pants, but if it is a club policy then it's a shit one that will cost them attendance

The GS interview was spot on and very insightful but the radio silence and lack of communication for a year or so beforehand was ridiculous.
As for the club shop, everyone knows it's a shit show, so why hasn't it been addressed, we're told The Trust are the ones that ask the questions so Where's the answer on that? Pre season friendly information is yet another example of piss poor communication from the club to the supporters.
I'm sure, infact, I know, the trust do a hell of alot of good work but being told to give them money or shut up asking questions on a club messageboard, when I don't see them actually asking many questions to the club(besides one interview), is ridiculous.

'but being told to give them money or shut up asking questions'

Fucking hell, talk about utterly misrepresenting what was said!!!

As for the club shop, I asked that question just yesterday but the answer is/was as ever, and regularly cited/explained on here, that's down to the Commercial Director.

As for the 'not asking many questions' you'd know if a member - or if you bothered asking me or any of the other people you know are active inside and outside the Trust- that they are the people who ask the questions including re comms etc.

Trouble is people don't listen or read, when these things are talked about. They prefer to moan it seems.

Crumps, believe me I'm in agreement.

One thing though. The answer "that's down to the Commercial Director" isn't really satisfactory is it?

Surely they could ask him? In fact, surely they have asked him, so should know the answers.

I'm not criticising but I don't think the Trust should be accepting answers like that.

It's not misrepresenting what was said mate, that's pretty much hoe it's been put out there on here.
I don't want nor need to know the ins and outs of how the club is run buy would expect a club the size of ours to be far better with communication go the fans. I'd hoped that interview either GS would be the turning point but the lack of info on pre season games is an example that that's not the case.
Regards the club shop farce being down to the commercial director, have the trust asked him/her what the fuck they're playing at?! Because from the outside looking in, they're clearly failing at their job.

Re: Could be fake news but just seen this online...

Yes, I can assure you the Trust have asked that question and have an 'inside line' on it so are more aware than anyone on here. But as you also well know, the Commercial Director/department isn't great on replying (in most instances) and that has been raised too.

I personally and through the Trust have repeatedly questioned GS about the lack of comms, and those interviews are definitely a break through. Which the Trust has worked towards.

No I haven't asked about PSFs as frankly I haven't given a thought to them. Far more interested in what actions can be taken to promote the drive towards a decent Football Regulation Bill which actually matters. As usual the same old 'do fuck all' people dismiss that too - whereas it's vital (and all we can do it seems) for the future of the game in this country.

As for your first sentence, disagree and from what I've noticed it's a perception only taken up by a couple of people (under several names)

We'll agree to disagree on how the money for questions thing was perceived I think mate. I know I'm not on my own in taking the posts that way.
I do know, as we've chatted about it a few times, how you and others have asked for better communication from the club. Let's hope the pre season friendly issue is just a blip and they can build from the end of season interview.
I do however think the commercial director needs to be held accountable for the shit show of a club shop though.

Agree wholeheartedly with the last sentence.

PSFs - bit of a mystery but I suspect they're not sorted yet for some reason? Some of that will be down to what the management want - and the other clubs.

The interview thing is in hand, and should be good.

Communication with the fans has dropped off massively over the last couple of years. I'm not expecting it to be like the conference years but any communication would be nice. We clearly know what friendlies we're playing so why not just say. This stuff is all planned and booked way in advance, although I can see plans might have been dependant on division these last two seasons.

Id have done the trip last year with more notice but with young kids and work it just wasn't enough time.

Agree on the Trust. I've joined, and will annoy people there as much as I do on here, but I'll be surprised if it makes any difference.

I joined the Trust when I renewed my season ticket the other day, so I haven't had a chance to ask questions yet - haven't even had confirmation that I have joined yet.
Once I know who and how to ask then I will be.

I was/am a member of Loyal Luton and I've emailed them many questions and never once had an acknowledgement of receipt of the email, which is mostly why I've joined the Trust.

Unfortunately it fell on a date when I was away for work. I did email and ask if the minutes would be released, but, again, no reply.

What I've seen so far is based on the interview and posts on here, which admittedly isn't much

The membership secretary has been on holiday - I believe that he was due back yesterday but I suspect that he will have a large number of applications to deal with when he gets back.

If you joined by direct debit, the person who deals with them has also been away recently.

                                              It's not automated?!

I joke, I wasn't complaining anyway, just answering Crumpsalls question

I believe that parts of the system are "automated" but other things have to be dealt with "manually".

The system is in need of an update to say the least- believe that is being looked into.

Perhaps something that a tech whizz like Doctor Ince could volunteer to help with??

I volunteered to help LL when MB was in charge. I have less free time now but yes I'd consider volunteering depending on what they need

They could really do with some tech input I believe - email the info or secretary address if willing. Post on here if you do and I'll make sure it's followed up if you like.

LL could probably do with the same but I'm not surprised they haven't replied to be honest
