I've been to an NFL and an MLB game in London the last year - two monoliths that dwarf the Premier League financially.

If the Premier League thinks it's immune from this it's sorely mistaken - games overseas by 2030 I'd say

Why? Genuine question, not being a smart arse, I see more and more people wearing the merch these days. I've watched bits and pieces but it just looks like one long advert, I don't understand the interest.

They are sports that need a level of understanding to get into so to speak. Football is a pretty simple game on the face of it.
NFL is a fantastic sport but you need to invest a bit of time to learn what’s going on.

I get the whole 4 downs to move 10 yards thing but the sheer amount of breaks in it is soul destroying. If they wrapped the whole thing up in 90 mins it would be watchable but how do people devote 4 hours to it, where nothing happens for 3 hours?

Not wanting to get too philosophical but it just seems like everything in American culture, overhyped to the max, then scratch under the surface and there's not much there.

I guess its the same as them saying hang on, you have a test match that lasts 5 days and it ends in a draw?
Baseball I can't get into to be honest. Went to a minor league game once and it's very dull imo

        At some point. It’ll go from 2 half’s to 3 x 30 minutes instead.

The foreign owned clubs always wanted no relegation.
It safeguards their 'investment' where they make money with no risk. Football is dying 😢
