I distinctly rememebr GS had his removed just after I had mine wipped out. His was taken out the day before Stoke cam ein for NJ. The day after he was doing live interviews at the training ground while I was still smacked up on fentanyl.

All I can tell you is that mine wasn't pleasant but far better than having the fear of another gallstone episode.

My wife has here removed last year. She was in intermittently terrible pain before the procedure but has had no side effects person since. The operation was also painless and she still looks after what she eats but a different person since it was removed. Good luck with the recovery

Had periodic bouts of pain prior to excruciating episode which couldn’t be calmed. Was given Naproxin to ease it. Had op. And have had no pain or discomfort since. 5 yrs on now.

Yeah, tell me about that 'excruciating episode' after intermittent periods of pain. Thought I was done for.
Mine ended up being quite complicated . .
                  *short version*
I had a gallstone situated very close to my Liver, local hospital wouldn't touch it so was transferred elsewhere. Stent fitted and sent home. A week later I'm back in hospital with even worse pain, internal bleeding and my gallbladder had burst. They clipped the bleeding but couldn't operate until the nasty stuff was drained away, cue about 3 weeks at home with a drain tube. Eventually operated on and sorted, all fine now.
I was just the unlucky recipient of a set of bad circumstances, probably nobody else has spent 3 months off work because of a gallstone.

Wow, that must have been an absolute nightmare. Mind started last June had to go to Bedford a and e has had so much pain in my stomach towards the right hand side couldn't sleep for three or four nights before my anxiety was through the roof kept having thought of including doom which I've never had before which was absolutely dreadful just didn't know what to do didn't know what was going on thought I was having a hard attack etc kept thinking about what would I do more gigs my house and all the rest that goes with it just glad it was diagnosed Toby what to do at the hospital which was not a great deal to be honest had to look most of it app on Google but just glad to have had it done now mine's been about a week so far tummy is still swollen but when I researched it apparently 50% of the population has gallstones but don't ever have problems besides the normal stomach cramps and people just say I had a doggy curry or something when it could just be a small stone head pass people really need to be aware of this to land you're okay now though.

Fine now thanks, just have a few slowly fading abdomen scars as a reminder.
I too had been having occasional 'heartburn' type pains for a year or so, mainly in the center right chest area, and of course ignored it, putting it down to indigestion (I was 65 at the time) and never considered it to be a gallstone.
Hindsight being what it is, probably consulting a doctor earlier would have saved me a lot of pain and inconvenience.

I went in Hospital at 8:00am and was home by 7pm same day. No pain, no discomfort, 3 small keyhole scars.
No after effects, thank you NHS.
The surgeon was a 6'4" Zimbarbian, great bloke.
