    Ashton Gate concert

32,000 sellout for some summer gig, shows the potential for PC.

Well done Stockwood Park and all that, but facilities and transport links put Power Court leagues above.

Just Thameslink access alone is massive, but for a big headline band you could expect people flying in. Would take about 20 mins once you leave the airport.

Fair play to SP getting 35,000 people in and out each day, not sure how they managed it, plus itís a bit of a trek from town or even Parkway.

Incredibly tough thing to pull off though. Lots of competition and other events. Plus a small window to host it before the pitch has to be prepared for the new season.

One of the competitive advantages that Spurs' stadium has is that the pitch is rolled in from outside, so they can hold concerts up until the week before the start of the season.
We could install some kind of artificial grass at either KR or PC that would not only allow concerts and other events. But would mean we wouldn't have problems with ice or waterlogging.
        Something worth considering ;-)

95% of what you need is already there, basically just need to put up a stage and cover the pitch area.

Given it's a new stadium then facilities will be far superior to almost all other venues. Take MK bowl, everything about it is terrible apart from the gig itself. Getting in/out, queues, overflowing disgusting bogs - not been back since Bowie in the 90s, nor would I.

The club would have 6+ weeks to host 3-4 day long-weekend slots. Could easy have say a Depeche Mode or Killers sell out 2 weekends, plus as mentioned a metal weekend, revival weekend etc.

Overseas artists would like it as the facilities would be better than a van backstage of a muddy field, plus they use LTN vip anyway. Diva types can also stay somewhere like Luton Hoo, plus only an hour from London if they record company biz there.

I think it could be huge, and obv having Rob Stringer gives us a massive leg up.

you need 6 weeks to prepare the pitch for the new season. Just covering it won't protect it
Why most of these football stadiums only host one gig ala MK this Thursday, then gives the groundsman 6 weeks to get the pitch ready.

That's still 4-5 free weekends, plenty of time for a couple of 3-day festivals and a couple of stadium bands doing Thurs-Sunday back-to-back.

Could get 10+ dates out of it with a decent cut of better revenues than matchday, given the higher capacity and people are there for several hours.

Someone like the Killers could sell 10 dates on their own, meaning you only have to build the set once.

Do you by any chance work for the council, and say no to everything?

Let's actually get it built first eh Harvey Goldstein.
Which other football grounds are holding 10 plus gigs this summer with exception of Wembley ?

Agreed, there is plenty of income to be made at PC aside from football. That is good for the club and the community.

To be honest I was a bit concerned about the Big Weekend. All three of my kids went, and the youngest were 15 and 16 but my all accounts everything went without issues. Fair play to the organisers.
