      Thank you Dan for:

      - those headed goals from Alan Sheehan free kicks that seemed to be a weekly occurrence in (I think) the League 2 promotion season.

      - stepping in at centre back under NJ when we had a back line of full backs, but still kept winning.

      - those passionate double fist pumps towards the Luton end of Wembley (which got us up cheering and jumping) when both of the coin tosses in the shootout went our way. Little moments of leadership and passion like that can make a big difference when the margins are so small.

      - that penalty - so cool and calm it was as if you were possessed by Graham Alexander! So many millions riding on it and you had the personality and skill to get it done for us all.

      - in many ways (not that fast, not that strong, not that good on the ball etc) you were not a great player, but you still managed to be a great player for us when we needed you most.

      Cheers Captain Dan.

TBF if your last competitive kick is the one that secured a season of premier league football, funded the stadium, set the club up financially, secured the infrastructure , and meant the scum lose their claim of "oh but we have been in the prem". Its not a bad one...

Shame he never got to play in the prem and complete the set, but its a good legacy

Last ball he kicked for Luton "competitively" - he played pre-season before getting injured (again).

True. His career could have been so much better if he hadn't been so fragile.

Yep, despite that fucking iffy run-up for his pen which shredded my absolute last nerve. I reckon he knew what he was doing. Needed a Luke Berry 'massive balls' celebration to top it off.

              All the best Dan Potts.

              Cheers, Jim

Well, I was at my brother's wedding but, no, more sank into whatever it was I was sitting on. Don't really remember what that was but you can say armchair and have a big old cry about it, if that's what you need.

                  Cheers, Jim
