Football Regulator: message from Fair Game re contacting MPs

Posted by crumpsall on 24/5/2024, 16:29:28

TAKE ACTION TO SAVE THE FOOTBALL BILL

It is now or never time: Politicians must commit to revamped Football Bill… and now
There is no doubt that football is broken. It is a shame that the Bill has fallen, but this now represents an opportunity to address the serious flaws that were in it.

We need a Bill that will tackle the growing financial inequality in the game, that ensures the regulator is truly independent, and rewards well run clubs.

To deliver change we need political support. Ask them to ensure the Bill returns quickly and in a good state.

For the sake of fans and clubs up and down the country we need all parties to make a firm commitment that a new Bill is brought forward in the first session of the next government.

One way YOU can take action is to write to your local MP.

Email your MP and if you want to, cc advocacy@fairgameuk.co.uk

Spread the word to football fans you know so they can do the same!

The more MPs that publicly support this move, the more likely a new Bill will be put forward. This responsibility lies firmly with our politicians to make this happen and ensure financial fairness and stability for ALL clubs across the English pyramid.

    TAKE ACTION NOW

Wouldn’t it be better to leave it until after the election? As it stands we are now in the wash up period, so nothing can be done. Then Parliament will be dissolved and hundreds of those who are.MP’s now will not be MP’s then.

The idea is to put pressure on MPs - all parties - to ensure it's an election issue and maybe get more commitments to a stronger bill (it is weak in several areas) while we have leverage with them as they're seeking votes.

Then go again, I agree, post election - many MPs will change anyhow
