    Radio 1's Big Weekend

Posted by Godders on 24/5/2024, 14:39:03

It's causing absolute chaos. Schools closed today, police with leave cancelled, traffic chaos and no doubt an absolutely disgusting trail of litter left behind afterwards.

Back in the day many of us will probably remember the Radio 1 Roadshow which had a large programme of much smaller events visiting manybtownsand cities accesing more people for far less disruption. Its a shame that model isn't be revisited.

Stop being such an old grump. Brilliant to have an event like that in Luton, will provided a much-needed boost to the town's image. And people will enjoy it!

It's a major boost to the town and its profile and economy (as was promotion this time last year). There are bound to be inconveniences but you sound like a right nimby (and you're in Dunstable so it's not your back yard!).

Parklife at Heaton Park is a mile away from me and attracts massive crowds every year- doesn't disrupt life that much at all. Bloody chaos when the Pope came here though...

The town will probably make a lot of money out of it. Not really for me as I'm getting on a bit now.I remember the days of tribal gathering at Luton Hoo I think it was in the early 90s from what I remember, I saw faithless there what a night.
