Stop press: Bochum also on the way down

Posted by Gut City Hatter on 23/5/2024, 21:35:46

Tonight's result in the relegation playoff:
Bochum 0 - Düsseldorf 3. Second leg on Monday, but as the TV commentator said:
(apologies to Godders) "Bochum will need the greatest comeback since (the original) Easter."
Very one-sided game, even though Bochum somehow managed to beat both Bayern Munich and Stuttgart this season.
The dominant player was, strangely, a player on loan from Naarwich - a goal and two goal setups.

I was a little surprised even back in the day, when LTFC chose Bochum for the pre-season friendlies, but perhaps somebody in the club had some sort of existing contact.

Long term ankle injuries to Potts and Clark in that game. An expensive friendly!

An agency arranged the game(s), it was they who put the clubs in touch.

Until last night, they were the last team to beat Leverkusen in a competitive game.
