Fabrizio Romano reckons lokonga will leave either on loan or perm.. surely we could try and get him on loan if that's the case pay half his wage again like last season. If we get promoted we could then get him on a free as his contract is up after next season.

He'll want to play in PL, fair enough tbh.

        Can't see it personally.

He is more than capable of playing for a mid-lower Prem Team. Even half his wage would be more than likely out of our budget now.

His message to the fans didn't sound like a player who was wanting to stay. More of a goodbye.

        Cheers,

Genuine question, because I'm not 100% sure of the answer, is he that much better than Marv?

Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Nakamba had been fit all season, as in how we would have lined up and if they would play together.

hes much better than Marv on the ball. You can see, the lad can really play as well. Probably higher up the pitch if needed.

Marv is excellent as what he does, but hes far more limited in possesion, from what weve seen so far

I would have love to have seen all three on them on the pitch this season (with Barkley)

I personally don't think he is better than Nakamba but it is the old apples and oranges.

Edwards said earlier in the season that wanted them both in the side to give us a double pivot In the middle.

On the ball Lokonga is several levels above Nakamba, in my opinion. Think they would make an excellent pairing though.

Completely different players, but would complement each other nicely. Lokonga is light years ahead of Marv IMO but Marv still a v important player for us.

Yes agree...Lokonga has much better passing but Nakamba is better defensively. Would work well together, and if both were fit would've given Barkley more freedom and passing options.

Im not sure Nakamba is better defensively. Maybe from a tackling perspective, although his tackling is sometimes a little reckless and if he had been fit all season and played, he may have got a red card or two. Lokonga was, especially earlier in the season, often the last man defensively - his positional awareness is excellent, so I would argue he I could be better defensively as well. If both had played though, they would have been given different roles and Nakjamba would have been given the more defensive role.

I think as you say they complement each other very well, would be a good combination. Wont happen though
