    The vision for the future

    Posted by E5 Hat on 22/5/2024, 13:46:45

I can see this being a very interesting summer in the next steps for our club after the last 9 months.

Most cash ever in the bank… Stadium some way off, so how much is spent on the squad.

What will be our style of play? Very open and focused on scoring more than the opp or more our previous championship style, score on the break hard to break down.

Which players will or can we keep? Some real success stories this season, so bids are incoming. Some players are coming to the end of the levels we need too. feels like a big overhaul is needed.

Is Rob staying on, Ipswich seems like a real threat after Chelsea sacking too. I wouldn’t be shocked if Brighton went in for him.

Jesus - Gary has a busy summer again - COYH

If we lose three stars your irony is way short…

And your evidence for this is??

BTW - you only need '£' or pounds, not both, though it must be difficult to see through the tears of envy. IF ONLY you'd been available back in the day.

As I keep saying, prove it.

I doubt that we will spend much/anything above any transfer income, and nor should we.

Income for the next 12 months will be less than 50% of what it was last season. Parachute payments are there mainly to ensure we can afford to pay the contracts of players signed last summer.

If nobody leaves then our squad is already good enough to compete. If we sell Adebayo, Doughty etc, then those incoming transfer fees will be enough to replace them.

I like your confidence that incoming transfer fees will be enough to pay for replacements, not totally convinced tbh

Many of our best signings in recent years have cost £0 in transfer fees

Agree with all that, although assuming we do raise good money in transfer fees would be a missed opportunity not to reinvest (not all of it of course).

I’m looking forward to watching Ogbene’s through balls to Taylor that’s for sure.

If Ogbene was better in the final third he would not be playing for us
I like him - great character
