Premier League ... gonna miss it?

Posted by Shutupya on 20/5/2024, 9:40:28

Mixed feelings, I have enjoyed being part of it for one season and would have loved for the financial reasons to have made it two...

    But

its so predictable .... who would have thought the three promoted sides would go down and Man City would win it back before a ball was kicked

Sanitised stadiums, half n half scarfs, tourists, every kick over scrutinised, sky sports making even the smallest, dullest bit of news into a drama like an episode of Eastenders. No mark entitled fans, VAR, gay as fuck lightshows, shit atmospheres at alot of grounds and glory hunters. Nah I can't see me missing much.

The only things I'll miss is occasionally seeing some of the best players in the world and the £30 cap on away tickets.

I've never been so not bothered about a relegation in my life.

Not going to miss it much to be honest, though I did enjoy seeing us have a go and giving us some great moments to savour.

Worst thing is, now we've seen what it's like, do we want it again? Can't say no really because otherwise there's no point even competing, but .....

The quality of football was good to see at times and visiting new grounds and cities was interesting. But, I guess we wonít miss the simulation, constant whining of entitled fans, the ubiquitous Premier League tourists and the lack of atmosphere at a lot of grounds. In the round, I think we found the Championship more enjoyable.

The club will miss the money. Iíll miss the standard of football, which has been incredible at times, and itís been nice to see more young kids around in Luton shirts. Be nice to celebrate a goal properly without waiting for VAR. I prefer the geographical diversity of the Championship, lots more fun weekends away. It will be nice (hopefully) to get my grandson to a few more matches. It will be nice to win a few more games, and get in a pub before away games less than a mile from the stadium. It will be nice not to have lots of podcasters who know nothing about Luton talking about Luton.

Nah, Arsenal at home was shite, the diving moaning and lack of any atmosphere from their fans was enough for me.

Deep down I've not really given a toss since then, pile of manufactured overhyped wank.

Only in the sense that in sport you want to be competing at the highest level. To those who are saying we are better off out of it, presumably you will be hoping we don't get promoted next season.

I guess if the question was do you want to be promoted then it would be a yes or no to that...but miss it, nah, makes no difference to me...

I won't miss it. It was good to give it a go, I enjoyed it in some ways, but there is a lot I simply won't miss.

Though if by some miracle they did get rid of VAR it would go up in my estimation.

This relegation simply doesn't hurt that much at all compared to all of the others I have experienced.

I'll miss Ross Barkley and Sambi Lokonga (and possibly a few others).

But I won't miss VAR, I won't miss sterile away days, I won't miss gloating plastic 'PL fans' on social media, I won't miss shit refs giving fouls every time an opposition player gets touched, I won't miss the condescending media, and I won't miss feeling like every game is an uphill battle.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to the championship, and seeing what some of these young players can do next season, with a year of work in the PL under their belts.

Yes agreed, I was thinking more about the EPL itself but yes it was a genuine pleasure watching how those two performed.

And a lot of people seem to think we will be up there next year but I have to say that how we go about replacing that centre of midfield and any other key players that go (assuming they do of course) is going to be pivotal.

I'm also looking forwards to see if Taylor and Macatee can make an impact.

Coverage we got not to mention the jealousy

                            But we'll be back

First time we've been relegated and I'm not in the least disappointed or upset, of course I'd have liked us to have got more points and not lost some of the games we shouldn't, but some of the stuff, like the ghastly line up announcements at Man City (huge screen pictures of each of their players striking some ludicrous pose), is truly the antithesis of everything following a football club is about.

Of course it was nice to see it, but not going to miss it.

Championship is more exciting and no VAR makes things better. Just too many primadonna's - both players and referee's.

Plus we get to play the Scum again!
