Apart from the Miss, I thought he played ok, he was pitched in at the deep end, and played out of position for first couple of games.

          Deep end?

He is a professional footballer, an International, playing a league match without a huge amount riding on it.

          Hardly the deep end.

More the question to the circumstances he ends up joining us in the first place bearing in mind we were supposed to be stronger at the end of the window.

Far far too many not understanding the game or with huge blinkers on.

Someone above said “deep end” my point was reflective.

Being positive you say? Seven points since Boxing Day really isn’t fun or acceptable.

You will see a new Cuba now with some optimism for next season, as long as we spend what we need to and ensure we have a 25 man squad where everyone can contribute something.

While Potts has been hugely unfortunate over many years having a squad space for him ALL SEASON has been a costly mistake.

Sentiment in keeping squad places for him and Locks were poor decisions.

Onwards and upwards and via the next generation squad.

Potts who was fit when we named our squad? Your point about Locks is moot as that space was filled by Fred.

As for you demands we spend... you also demanded perreira play. And had a hissy fit about loaning out giles. So i`ll take your demands with a mineful of salt..

Just to put you spending "demands" into perspective..lets look at some transfers...

Barklay - free . Player of the season
Alfie - rumoured 500k - done ok hasnt he?
Mengi - 1-2 million guestimate..done ok hasnt he?
Elijah - 250k - worth at least 30 times that now
Ogbene - cost us fuck all..done ok hasnt he?

Giels - rumoured 5 million. yiu had a hissy fit when he was loaned out after we got cb injuries. Lets not spend huge amount on players that dont fit straight in just to give you an excuse to cry . or if we dont you will cry that we didnt spend huge amounts.

I did not have a hissy fit about Giles leaving.

I had a hissy fit about Giles not being replaced by someone better or someone at least who could be bothered.

My agenda is that we have blown a golden chance to stay up.

Why it’s ONLY me who can see this is beyond me.

And FFS the Dion situation was in 2022, what the heck has it got to do with now?

So you can forgive the lost opportunity?

You do know many fans probably won’t live to see us in the Premier League again.

We seem to have treated it as as year long jolly rather than appreciating the opportunity we had 😟

Regardless of transfers, we should be looking carefully at what caused so many injuries to key players, even today we were down to bare bones after a few minutes.

We must not make the same mistakes and buy injury prone players.

GS. Only he knows what really stopped us doing more.

After all he said in the Sheff United programme notes that “upon reflection we came up short”

It’s was his job to avoid that outcome.

So I think he needs to explain.

Personally I can’t forgive and forget not strengthening the defence and only bringing in a player clearly out of his depth.

So, out of curiosity, which players did you think - in advance - were “injury-prone”?

                                  Barkley perhaps?

Sambi, missed at a lot of game at Palace last season.

Burke, we know he is fragile. So when you lose Locks, have a fragile Burke, Osho who had been out for months and only Ted as senior cover.

Ted after all was purchased as a development player.

Naming Potts in the squad in that area twice was a mistake.

It’s those decisions that have cost us.

Eli was unfortunate, however we do know that second half of seasons he has had injury problems for us, hence you could imagined that we could have afforded some extra cover.

I'd LOVE to see you stand in front of RE and the players and explain how they have treated the year as a "jolly" and that they didn't appreciate the opportunity they had.

                                    That really would be something.

Where did I accuse the players of that?

The players have done their best, the problem being they have been let down.

Do I have to explain why?

Imagine being a player in a squad with significant injuries and seeing the squad not strengthened.

                                        I’d be pretty annoyed.
