Contracts

Anyone know the position with our top players at the end of the season?
As always we will have interest in our players from bigger clubs, no matter the division we are in next year.

Undisclosed.

I doubt many on here “know”.
Strongly suspect: Barkley has a relegation clause - no idea how much we would get, if anything The loans will obviously go back. Osho, Berry, Pelly, Fred and Potts out of contract.
The rest from memory are locked in on long term deals
Not bad really.
I think Osho and Barkley will be big misses. Osho is injury prone though. I’d offer Berry a year but let Fred, Pelly and Potts go.

Berry and Pelly are both effective at Championship level. I’d be surprised if we let both go

Blimey we are trying to move forward I hope.
Not effective crap.

Bet you thought you were really cool with that post, slagging off a couple of Luton legends.

Didn’t mean to sound negative. I’m a big fan of Berry and Pelly (and Potts and Fred for that matter).
I’d love for both Berry and Pelly to stay on

Whoever posted below you didn't agree.
I think both would be key squad players in the Championship.

Think your right about Potts , Berry , Pelly. Sort of feels like it could be the end of an era really.

I'll miss Luke Berry, some club out there is going to get lucky getting him.

You would think that when Barkley signed his more than one/ less than four year deal he would have known that we were candidates for relegation. Be nice if he did the decent thing... should we go down.
Re: Contracts
Posted by ELH on 9/5/2024, 11:17:44, in reply to "Re: Contracts"
What would the decent thing be?
Let's say he has a relegation release clause to leave on a free if we go down. (I have no idea if that's the case.) We would have paid no fee for him and paid him his salary for which he's put in his best efforts. It would protect the club against having a player who should command a salary far above what we should pay in the Championship and allow him to move back to the level he should be playing at.

Agree. If we treat good current players well, then good future players will come. If Barkley leaves on good terms after a good season that restored his profile, there can be no better advert for the next quality player who is thinking about maybe joining us.
If the club get some £ too, that would be nice.

Osho out of contract and rumoured to be off Iirc Berry, Potts and Pelly also out of contract and leaving
The club refuse to tell us customers so other than that it's just guesswork I think

Marks and Sparks won’t tell me what employment contracts their shop assistants are on, doesn’t mean I won’t buy a pair of socks from them

Presumably you are young, with no responsibilities other than to drop mum and dad £20 each week for a bed and food, leaving them also to wash your dirty clothing including skid lined underpants.
