Ryan Giles

Just listened to an interview with Hull's owner about the reason they surprisingly released Liam Rosenior yesterday.
The owner claimed that he and his board want a more attacking philosophy to that which Rosenior gave them. Interestingly, he mentioned Ryan Giles in particular as the "most attacking full back in the league." He was the only player mentioned by name.
Trying to read between the lines here but that sounded as though Giles was signed to appease the owners' preferred approach rather than Rosenior's and could be the reason that Giles wasn't a starter for Hull in the season's later matches.
By the sounds of it, their owner could still want Giles for next season where I thought he may be returning to us.

Yes, also someone supposedly in the know amongst their fans said before the sacking that the Giles deal was expected to be made permanent.

I always thought this was a loan with a view to a permanent move. Not sure what the penalty clauses would be for not following through with a transfer. Or if even there are any.

Option, not obligation, I believe.

Obviously you 'believe' that because you were paying attention. Not because Cuba cites it more often than he breathes out.
Cheers, Jim

Fair enough. Nothing to say that Hull don't want to sign him of course.

Hull inside info. man (on a podcast with David Prutton, no less) said that a permanent deal was agreed "in principle" and seemed to think the plan was to stick to it. Although not sure how principled as a club they are after the sacking yesterday.

Well are they gonna cough up the 4 and half million that's been quoted from when he went on loan.

Who knows??? The questioner quoted 4 million and Baz, think his name was, didn't argue. Have seen 4.5 quoted on their forum too.

If we go down this season we can make easily 50 odd million from player sales in 4 or 5 players going. I know it's not ideal but at the end of the day we're a club playing in a depleted stadium and it would help massively to power court build.
