Let's face it, we never spent anywhere near enough to stay in this league

£20 million is peanuts , probably the lowest amount any club has spent when promoted the premier league. We should have spent double that to give ourselves a decent chance of staying up.

Yep, we should’ve spent £100m like Burnley to win 1 less point than we have so far.

        Spending More = Spending £100m

Must be weird living in a world with no compromise or in betweens.

My point is spending any amount of money doesn’t guarantee anything. If we spent another £20M how many more points would we have? If there was a linear relationship between spending and success Chelsea would be champions.

We started the season with Lockyer. We lost him half way through. Replacing him isn't spending money to improve the squad, it's simply getting back to where we once were.

A player with a heart condition should have a % chance attached to him, which is backed up with insurance. The club have rolled the dice, and it's cost massively.

Spending £10M plus to replace Lockyer with an upper championship level centre back would also be rolling the dice, surely? You could argue that the club were too conservative with January expenditure, but given our history I know what I would prefer out of too cautious vs too risky

Didn’t Forest spend £200 million and that just about kept them up. Good established players are £20M + (each).

If we didn't have a new ground to pay for I would agree.

Good. Running a club prudently is more important.

But change the bloody record. We can't keep harping back to January saying we should have done this, that or the other. We are where we are.
