    Fair play to Tranmere Rovers

I see they have publicly called out the decision to scrap FA Cup replays as disgraceful.

Personally I’d like to see our club call it out too.

Perhaps clubs that think through any statements before going public will make a better job of it this one sounds back of fag packet.

Like GS statement about the points deductions then?

Fair play to both Tranmere and Grimsby.

This is now a strange competition. When I started to go to football in about 1964 or 65, this was the most important club football competition in the world. Every school boy's dream. It was the fairly remote opportunity for a small club to knock out one of the big boys. If you managed to get a drawn game at home then the opportunity was to make the big bucks and/or glory in the replay. Now if you get that draw the opportunity is reliant on a penalty shootout. This is not right in my opinion. BUT that is all it is, an opinion.

I would be surprised if we don't in due time.

Thankfully we are past owners writing posting ramblings in the middle of the night à la Gurney.

My 2p for what it is worth. I think a change of this magnitude should of been a vote of every FA affiliated club.

This is a profit motivated decision made by the FA which is supposed to be a not-for-profit organisation. It stinks.

Just like the English Shirts where the real controversy should of been the price get them made somewhere other than a Nike sweatshop and sold at a price that parents can afford to buy for every child who wants one.

      Bring back Admiral.

"I think a change of this magnitude should of been a vote of every FA affiliated club"

There's a good reason why that didn't happen.

As far as I can tell no individual club has had a vote on this, though I suspect the voices of 6, maybe 10 at a push, clubs are behind this.

Would think Gary etc are a bit conflicted and probably can’t say anything about this anyway.
I must admit. I wasn’t overly bothered about it until I saw it had just been forced through and EFL clubs weren’t consulted
The potential 2 games extra for the top clubs in event of replays have been sacrificed for the extra games these same clubs will have in Europe by sounds of it.

The vote for the super league happened.

                And then the fans revolted.

There was no vote for this and it affects the whole pyramid.

                  Sorry. It is late.

My point was when they tried to make the super league happen. The fans of the English teams involved made their 2p known and stopped it.

My 2p is worth nothing but every fan of every team under the FA who is against this change. Pur collective 2p have more power than the sneaky six.

Now I look forward to rereading tomorrow to see what I posted earlier for people to get the wrong end of the stick.

I'm neither a troll or attacking at every opportunity.
But my thoughts are that we have crawled up the arse of the very thing we've stood against and despised for years, modern football.
GS is very vocal about alot of things. Quiet on this subject though. And I've just given the reason why.

And I don't think you have a clue about what GS and 2020 do to fight against the shit of modern football, or why they can't go public on much of it.

When Sweet did, about points deductions, the very same people attacked him for it on here.

Seeing as it is an agreement between the Premier League and the FA, we, as a member of the PL, must have either signed up to it, or it has been agreed on our behalf. Either way it is happening whilst we are a member of the PL.

Grimsby have just released a statement. Using their replay with us as an example why replays shouldn't be axed.
They imply the decision was made without consulting clubs.
