Forever destined to kick around league 2 When they were non league ( before we joined them) I had quite a soft spot for them in their struggles to get out of that div( think they were denied promotion due to their ground?)
Recall the cup run they had against Newcastle with local lad Des Gallagher in goal.
Then we played them , and they finally won the league( and a couple of their yoof , thought it was oh so funny, to pin an RIP flag or something similar outside our ground, and have massive sniggers about it. Then Ronnie Henry joined us and they went into utter meltdown, the poor souls. They created a mock rivalry with us, that I have to admit I bought into for a while. Don’t think much about them now, until the other week , when I went to the Emirates, and as expected the train was rammed with Red& White.
It reminded me of I think of a Daily Telegraph reporter who went to a match ( think it was the game that Barnes Homer scored in) And he stated….” Attending Stevenage v Luton , I got off at the station to be surrounded by a sea of Red & White, only to find out that they were all travelling in the opposite direction, and therein lies Stevenages problem, they can’t grow their fanbase”
And that still is their problem, Wallace probably hasn’t the funds to sustain a Championship side, and that’s probably the main reason why Fatsos off!!
Have they still got a Spurs Shop in the town?

A couple of there comments on the Evans situation today sums them up. "Going to Rotherham FFS". Just who the fuck do they think they are, a non league attitude with non league supporters.
