The Michaela School

At last, a rare victory for common sense in this mad world. The Muslim schoolgirl and her mother knew what they were signing up for when the girl was enrolled at this non-faith school.
There’s too much yap about what divides us. The school is a model of education concentrating on what unites us all. It’s a shame that it was challenged on a topic which they knew well in advance was banned. What her legal team were thinking is beyond me.
Find a plyable dimwit ,persuade them to "assert their right to" Icknield for example, when the head left some years ago he said he came in to educate children not fight court cases.
Is there anyone genuinely arguing it wasn't the correct call?
You can't send your kid to a secular school, where all religious rituals and practices are prohibited, and someone claim its discriminatory when you're not allowed to pray. It's not discriminatory if it applies to everyone.
I've yet to hear anyone questioning the decision - plenty questioning the motivations of the mother though. The Mail online community seem to revel in this sort of nonsense.
You tell me about your Jewish ancestory and wherever is was that they escaped from as refugees to claim asylum in the UK and I'll tell you Adolf. Deal?
Why not? And once again, how does the fact that he merely mentioned it at the end of his post lead you to conclude that's what he was most worried about?
And no. See, answering questions isn't always hard if you try.
All he/she has achieved is distracting from the main topic of this thread. Some people seem more interested in making snide remarks - and in their weird minds 'pointscoring' - about other posters rather than discussing anything.
A sad and rather pitiful state of affairs for them, and for the board.
"Some people seem more interested in making snide remarks"......like about people who read "The Mail Online" ?? Come on,admit it - you never miss an opportunity to shoehorn in you personal politics in to every/any post.
You obviously think you're enlightening the board users with your presence, but you're not.
Because he felt obliged mention it, absolutely no concern about maintaining secularism in schools or legal aid for such ridiculous shenanigans, Just a snooty reference to "The Mail Online". You are a double act.
"I've yet to hear anyone questioning the decision - plenty questioning the motivations of the mother though" Nothing about YOUR opinion regarding this story, just your opinion about "The Mail Online" reaction. Get it ?
Implicit in that statement is my opinion to anyone with an ounce of comprehension skills (and who doesn't want to focus on my secondary message, true though that is).
But to expand and clarify to the intellectually challenged: I think the whole thing is a farce, an attempted 'set up' by the mother and whoever is behind her, involving scandalous misuse of public and legal aid funding. And I am entirely in agreement with the head teacher, who I admire enormously.
That's a very poor, defeated, predictable response. Please check out my reply to your exchange with MG, though - thanks for the laugh you silly person!
There's a group of people on the internet who will jump on spelling or grammatical errors to in an attempt to make themselves appear superior, or claim to have won a debate. However this is a fallacy and often means they are probably cunts who spellcheck everything in a word document first, then claim other's are weirdo's.
Actually, spelling and grammar is all about good communication in order to help people understand what has been written, and therefore what is meant by the author. It has very little to do with making one feel superior (although I don't doubt that may be the case for some) but more about people genuinely wanting to engage in honest conversation but do not understand the writings of someone who fails to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Take the above conversation on this message board between Ron and English Teacher as a prime example.
“It has very little to do with making one feel superior (although I don't doubt that may be the case for some) but more about people genuinely wanting to engage in honest conversation but do not understand the writings of someone who fails to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.”
Could have done with better grammar and punctuation to be honest.
Eh? What a remarkable and deliberate misreading of my post, whose main topic was clearly a response to HH and questioning of the mother.
I suspect that you are one of those proliferating message board weirdos who trail certain posters around in order to make snide responses. NaG attracts lots of those, as does Ches Fordroad of late.
Your reply had sweet fa to do with the topic in question. Telling and amusingly ironic.
You actually think that's a valid - let alone intelligent - response? To me, it's clear evidence that you are indeed full of shit and just another message board weirdo with nothing of interest to say.
You have to question the motivation behind taking this to court. They are so mortified by the result that the girl is continuing her education there and the mother is still sending the younger sibling to the school as well.
