    Ref's and Advatage

Wish the refs had played the game, their interpretation of the advantage seems to be if your team retain the ball we will try and play advantage but they don't seem to realise that's not always the case, today Clark was fouled and left on the floor the ball ran to Barkley who was surrounded by 3 Muff players ref waves play for an advantage, unsurprisingly Barkley is dispossessed, so absolutely no advantage. The same happened on Wednesday at Arsenal, no understanding of the game.

That said, I am being picky, todays ref wasn't as bad as some others we have had.

When he didn’t book Barkley for the rugby tackle in the first half I though that this one was going to be ok tbf.

You’re probably right. When I was learning the trade I was advised to ask myself if I was the fouled team would I prefer a free kick or to play on from that position. Also that if the advantage doesn’t pan out within a few seconds you simply go back & award the free kick.

Like most of the new interpretations I don’t now have a foggy.

I’m still trying to get my head around that offside decision in the first half.

A lot of refs understand the rules but don't understand the game
