After yesterday’s performance, I still hope against hope we can scramble enough points from somewhere to stay up.
Injuries have done us, but we have a great fighting spirit.
However if we do go down I hope we can keep the nucleus of the squad, some will be off , and no doubt our superb recruitment team, will be already identifying some gems for next season. Would love Barclay to to stay, as I think he would tear the Championship apart. In form Taylor up front would be great also.
Stadium works underway, so much to look forward to
Going to enjoy the last eight games come what may, but a bright future ahead.

Financially we’re going to be in a very healthy position if we were relegated.
We would be guaranteed ~£100M for 2023/24 season in terms of central funding. If we finished third bottom I think this would increase by another £5M.
Parachute payments for 2025 would be ~£50M and 2026 season would be ~£40M a year. This would dwarf most other budgets in the league. And Burnley and Sheffield Utd have already spent big chunks of theirs. I also suspect we’ve probably “saved” about £20M from our current season of funding.
If we stayed up, we’d be guaranteeing ourselves probably around another £125M.
If we wanted to, our budget next season in the Championship may not be that far off what we’re spending this season.

Barkley, Mengi and Kaminski will be snapped up by PL clubs if we go down. The money should allow us mount a Championship promotion campaign.

I'm not sure Kaminski would be, unless it was by one of the promoted teams or Everton. He's not a ball playing keeper like most teams like now
