Forest are appealing the points deduction

Posted by Earls on 25/3/2024, 19:15:16

According to The Athletic. Hopefully that’s their two “co-operation” points deducted, the silly twats. Even Forest fans seem to think they’re chancing it with this one.

They have to appeal because they know damn well they’re cheating again this season. If they don’t appeal then they can’t claim they shouldn’t be punished this time next year when they do exactly the same thing again. Same as Everton.

They know that there’s a chance of 2 more point coming off and have decided it’s worth the risk (this season) for the long game (and potentially a lower deduction next session as they’ll become increasingly difficult and noisy.

Wonder if the premier league will also appeal now

Do you think we will get a points deduction for not warning them?

I actually think given how lenient the original penalty was, that’s it’s actually more likely that it gets increased than decreased.

Of course the most likely outcome is no change, but it does seem to be a very silly action on their part to take to what is a slam-dunk breach of the rules.

They should be grateful that was all the punishment was. I would at least double for a frivolous appeal

So, final decision around the time of our Everton or Fulham games?

Unless there is a factual reason to prove they didn’t exceed the cap of £61m then their appeal is futile and I’m unsure why they would even chance it ….. must be a hell of a back dated “credit” to correct what in real terms cannot be disputed !!!

If their very expensive lawyers can find fault with the process as Everton’s did, then they’ll probably expect it to come down now. Looked like they gave them the two points back to discourage the appeal but with no deal in place to that effect they were bound to appeal. They should have known this and deducted them 10 points to start with as they did with Everton.

Hopefully, the two points credit for co-operation will now be deducted and they go down by one point

I don’t reckon appealing counts as not cooperating unfortunately!

It isn't an exact fit but it certainly flies in the face of the spirit of cooperation that the Commission were oh-so-keen to point out in the original ruling

If they get even 1 point back I'd expect Everton to take the Prem, and maybe even Forest, to court (especially if their takeover gets ratified quickly)

                            Why ever not?

It shows a lack of cooperation. If they were cooperating fully they would sit down nicely and say, fair enough. But now they are fighting against them. That cannot be sent as fully cooperating in any way, shape, or form.

Exercising their right of appeal will not go against them as its part of the agreed process

Well their big long club statement basically said “we cooperated fully and you still screwed us over”. So I imagine that will be the line of attack?

What were they expecting? That by cooperating fully they wouldn’t be punished at all?!!
