Who go around filming other people's premises and then get into arguments and then they post it up on YouTube acting all self righteous. What is that all about? Haven't they got anything better to do?
Only asking as some have a valid point and highlight the lack of training and understanding in a large part of the security industry.
"You can't film here" Not true, you can pretty much film anything as long as your on public property ie a footpath or road.
That also applies to rights of way and private security not even understanding that an sia licence offers no additional rights to detain, stop or search than that of a normal citizen. There are constant oversteps that shouldn't be tolerated.
Our right to roam is constantly being eroded by companies taking advantage of the public's lack of knowledge so as much as these people can be real pricks, they're unfortunately necessary.
I agree, had a run-in with security at the Power Station near Nottingham Parkway. I was on a public footpath and they threatened to "confiscate" my camera if I didn't leave the area completely. Obviously I told them they had zero right to do so but there isn't a lot you can do up against four of them with no witnesses in sight.
That said, involving people in Youtube stunts without their permission and intrusive filming is also a really shit thing to do imho.
I get all that, as do most people I would hope. I'm on about the type of people you get on YouTube who seem to go out of their way to antagonise other people by filming them and then acting all upset when the people they've just intentionally wound up get wound up. What a strange hobby. I don't see what they get out of it other than annoying themselves and other people at the same time. Surely they've got better options of how to spend their time?
